Care & Rust Disclaimer – StackFire Grills & Fire Pits
Steel Rusts.
It’s not a flaw — it’s a fact.
StackFire products are precision-cut from raw, heavy-duty steel. They’re made to last, not to sit pretty in a box. But leave them outside in the rain, hit by sprinklers, or stored damp — and they will rust. That’s just what real steel does.
How to Use and Care for Your StackFire Products
Whether you're firing up one of our grills or just burning wood in a RingFire pit, here’s how to keep it in top shape.
- Packaged Flat – All StackFire products arrive in flat-packed panels for easy transport.
- Set Up to Use – Assemble wherever you’re lighting up: park, trail, backyard, or campsite.
- After Use:
- Option 1: Let it cool completely, then pack it into a dry bag or bin and clean it at home.
- Option 2: Wipe off food residue (grills only) or ash (fire pits), dry it thoroughly, and pack up on-site.
- At Home:
- Clean grills with a grill brush or mild soap and water.
- For fire pits, shake out debris and wipe with a dry cloth.
- Always dry completely before storing.
How to Prevent Rust
- Don’t leave it outside exposed to moisture.
- Wipe down all parts and dry thoroughly after each use.
- Store in a dry place — bag, bin, garage, or gear locker.
- Apply a light coating of vegetable oil or grill spray to exposed steel surfaces to protect it (especially for grills — just like cast iron).
Already Rusted? Here's How to Bring It Back to Life
Surface rust is normal. Here's how to restore it:
- Scrub affected areas with steel wool, a wire brush, or grill brick.
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth, then dry it completely.
- Apply a fresh coat of vegetable oil or grill-safe protectant.
- Repeat as needed — it’s part of owning raw steel gear.
StackFire is built for real use — not showroom polish. Take care of it like a good tool, and it’ll stay ready to fire for years.
